Why Choose In-Home Euthanasia?
- Comfort and Familiarity: Your pet remains in their favorite location, surrounded by familiar smells and the people they love.
- Reduced Stress: Less stress for pets who are difficult to move or become anxious in unfamiliar environments.
- Convenience: Schedule the appointment at a time that works best for you, including after normal hospital hours and on short notice.
- Presence of Family: More family members can be present than in a small veterinary office, providing a supportive environment for everyone.
- Peaceful Goodbye: Allows you to grieve in peace and bury your pet at home if desired.
The Euthanasia Process:
A euthanasia appointment typically lasts between 30 and 45 minutes. The process begins with a heavy sedative to help your pet relax and become comfortable. The final injection is fast-acting, taking effect in 30 to 60 seconds. After the procedure, you can spend as much time with your pet as needed. If aftercare is elected, the veterinarian will take your pet and arrange for their cremation.
Why Euthanasia?
Most diseases do not take a pet’s life quickly but cause prolonged pain and suffering. Euthanasia allows your pet to pass comfortably before suffering too much from a terminal disease. Each disease process must be handled differently; please speak with your family veterinarian.
Appointment Information:
- Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 9am to 4pm
- Price: $450 for the euthanasia service
- Surcharge: $300 for services outside scheduled hours or immediate attention requests
